PRICING + FAQs

I have three packages for you to choose from if you are looking for a family photo session: bronze, silver and gold. Each package incorporates a different session duration, number of digital images and the gold package includes some beautiful prints (can also be purchased as an add-on to your package). I have created these to tailor to different needs, whether you're solely looking for a low key photo session or whether you prefer to have a keepsake or two to treasure the moments captured. Please scroll through the options below and let me know if you have any questions!

Are you after something else, for instance an extended family photo session (for 6+ people) or event photography? Please contact me to discuss the various options.

FAQs

How do I book in?

Please send me a message and we can book in a date for you. Once you've paid a booking fee ($100), the time and date will be reserved for you.

How far in advance do I need to book in?

I recommend booking in 1-2 months prior to your preferred date as I generally book out one month in advance. For event photography (e.g. christenings, engagement parties and weddings), I recommend contacting me as soon as possible after you have set a date.

How do I pay for my session?

I will send you a digital invoice via email for both your booking fee (needed to secure your date), as well as the remaining balance which is due at least 7 days before your session.

Can I choose the location?

Yes please! If you have a favourite outdoor location that you like to visit, we can definitely go there. Otherwise, I have a number of favourite locations that I can recommend, based on what style you have in mind for your photo session.

What if I need to reschedule my session?

No worries at all! Sometimes Mother Nature doesn't work with us and we might need to reschedule, or something comes up and you can't make your booked in time. Together, we'll find a new date that suits. At least 24 hours notice is appreciated if you need to reschedule, but I also understand that this isn't always possible.

How long do you take to deliver galleries?

I aim to deliver all gallery previews within 2 weeks and your finalised photo gallery within 1-2 weeks after receiving your photo selection. I aim to deliver wedding photo galleries within 4 weeks.

We're not very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?

Of course, please don't worry about that. Most people, including myself, feel a little bit awkward or anxious in front of the camera. That's just because we're not used to a professional camera pointing at us all the time.

I'm all for candid shots so you most likely won't even notice me that much. And I have a few tricks up my sleeve that will help you feel comfortable and relaxed so you will completely forget the camera is there. You'll be you and I'll be there capturing some special family time.

What times can I book in?

My family sessions are available on weekends. I enjoy evening sessions as the light is just lovely close to sunset, around 4-4:30pm in winter and 6-6:30pm in summer. I know the end of the day doesn't always work well with (young) children, so if you prefer booking in a morning time slot at my studio instead, that's also an option!

What do I wear?

Based on the location, I can give you some advice as to what might work best. I generally advise choosing a few natural and soft colours that complement each other and choosing your outfits based on this. I wouldn't recommend large logos or busy designs as that can be distracting. But the most important thing is that you feel comfortable in what you're wearing. This will show in the photos!

Do I need to bring anything?

This depends on the type of photoshoot, but you generally just need to bring yourselves. There are a few different things (e.g. a rug and/or peacock chair) I can bring which I will discuss with you prior to your session.

Do I have to order prints through you?

It's definitely an option, but it's not mandatory! If you choose to order prints yourself, I do recommend ordering them through a specialised photo centre and not via a generic photo lab (e.g. Kmart, Big W, etc.) as I can't vouch for their quality.

I have another question, how do I get in touch?

Please feel free to contact me via the Contact page, send me an email (laura@marvephotography.com.au) or reach out via Instagram and/or Facebook.
